Christmas Crafts for Kids -- You will Love How Easy They Are

These Christmas crafts for children are perfect for preschoolers, students, and kids of all ages

Christmas crafts for kids do not have to be difficult and involved. Enjoy these easy Christmas crafts for your preschoolers. The tissue paper wreath is perfect for a classroom of young kids or a small group of friends gathered around your kitchen table. The supplies go a long way, and the fun goes even further. In fact, you might remember making this yourself when you were in school.

We all have crafts that we remember making as kids. This wreath is one that I remember making in the second grade. I hope that this will be a craft your kids will enjoy and remember, as well.

Tissue paper wreath

To begin enjoying your tissue paper wreath making, you will need to gather your supplies and start the fun!

Supplies:

-- Standard, white paper plates

-- Green tissue paper

-- Red Hots, cinnamon candy

-- Yarn or string

-- Scissors

-- Glue

Now -- let's begin!

1. Begin by cutting a circle out of the middle of the paper plates -- forming a doughnut of each plate. Give each child a doughnut-shaped plate to begin its wreath.

2. Keep the plate on its bottom and use this as the base for your wreath. From here, they will build their tissue paper wreaths.

3. Let each child tear the green tissue paper into small squares (about 1-2 inch in size). If you want to prepare this ahead of time for a large number of children, layer your tissue paper and use a paper cutter or scissors to dice squares from the paper.

4. With a dot of glue, attach square-by-square of tissue paper to the paper plate. Layer the tissue paper for a full, thick effect. Let the kids go crazy with the paper until they are tired of their craft.

(Caution: with wet glue on their hands, the green from the tissue paper might rub off on their skin. Don't worry, it will wash out.)

5. Once you complete the tissue paper, glue the red, cinnamon candies randomly over the wreath. These candies will be your "holly."

6. Once your wreath is completed, glue yarn on the back of the wreath, forming a loop to hang your wreath.

Get as crafty and creative as you want with this project. Substitute your green tissue paper for multi-colored, and your cinnamon candies for beads or skittles. Let your children use their imagination to create wreaths they will enjoy. These wreaths are great, fun Christmas crafts for kids of all ages.
