Canvas wall gifts

Use these Christmas crafts ideas to design your ideal wall decor. If you are like me, you look for versatility in everything you make. I kept my canvas paint simple so that it looked good hanging on my wall all year round. I used my holiday ribbon to make it more festive for Christmas. Here's what you do:

1. Paint each canvas to your liking. For all intents and purposes, let's pretend that you are painting 6 canvasses. We will imagine painting 2 canvasses of each color: red, green, and red with green polka dots.

2. After your paint has dried, it's time for the ribbon. Wrap your ribbon around the canvas and leave room to tie it in the back. Cut and tie. Arrange so that your gifts have ribbons of various shapes, colors, and layouts.

You can center 1 gift's ribbons to form a "+" by cutting 2 pieces of ribbon of the same size and tying into that shape. For another, consider using 1 ribbon up the middle horizontally. For yet another, run the ribbon vertically up the center. Get creative and have fun! Think of it like wrapping Christmas presents!

Once you finish your canvasses (embellished to your liking, of course) arrange them on your wall or on shelves throughout your house. I created 6 square canvases and hung them horizontally on my wall, in 2 rows. Each canvas is spaced 2 inches from the ones around it. It looks great -- since I painted my canvasses to match the colors of my living room. I can change out the ribbon each season to make it festive for that holiday!
