Krafty Kris’s Communion cup Christmas ornaments…

Many churches use disposable plastic Communion cups, so the cups for these Christmas ornaments are easy to come by. Churches don’t reuse them, so if you are willing to wash them up they will usually give you some for your Christmas ornament projects.

To make the Communion cup ornaments you glue a colored pom-pom to the bottom of the cup then top it off with a white pom-pom or a cotton ball (pom-poms are more durable). You can use cut coffee stirrers or matchsticks for the straw and top it with a “cherry” to make an original ice cream soda Christmas ornament.

It is best if the cherry is a red bead with a hole through it. If you use a bead you can thread a fine thread (fishing line is best) through it that will serve well for hanging the Christmas ornaments on the tree.

These Christmas ornaments can be made in a variety of different colors and are even great for theme tree decorations. You can use them as gifts, stocking stuffers, or even package toppers.

Did you know? The celebration of the Lord’s Supper or the Last Supper is also called Communion, Holy Communion, or Holy Eucharist. Communion is practiced in many churches of varying denominations.

These Communion cup Christmas ornaments are also wonderful Christmas ornaments for Sunday School craft projects or for children and youth groups and they can even be used for fundraisers. Many people buy unique Christmas ornaments and they may even be inclined to buy them in sets rather than individually which gives them great fundraising potential.
