Create a Christmas Recipe Cookbook
Have Fun This Weekend with a Practical and Fun Christmas Recipe Craft
If you’ve ever wondered what you could do with all of those scattered Christmas recipes you’ve clipped out of newspapers and magazines over the years, you finally have a solution. Holiday cooking and baking can be very fun, but not when you have to spend more than an hour searching for that one recipe you simply can’t live without. I have a very clever Christmas recipe craft that will allow you to finally organize those Christmas recipes once and for all.
A Christmas Recipe Cookbook
There are a couple of options for organizing Christmas recipes. A great idea is to create your very own Christmas recipe cookbook.
To do this, you will need a three-ring binder, thick, decorative paper and possibly sheet protectors. You can also select a photo album and slip the recipes into the 4 x 6 photo slots using random slots to hold pretty Christmas pictures. This option is definitely the quickest, but if you use a three-ring binder you can get very creative. Don’t forget glue sticks or rubber cement, markers, scissors, and scotch tape.
Once you have decided exactly how you’re going to assemble your Christmas recipe cookbook, you will need to sort through your recipes and group the recipes in categories such as cakes, cookies, and beverages. Group all those great recipes for spiced cider and eggnog in one pile and keep all the tasty cookie recipes together. Discard any recipes that you have no intention of trying or have tried and didn’t like.
Once all your recipes are sorted select one category and decide on a layout. Play around with your recipes and decide how many recipes you want to put on a page. When I made my recipe book, I created a “pocket” out of fabric on one page and slipped a few recipes inside that I got from Family Circle magazine. The recipes were the size of small cards and came perforated. I stacked the recipes on top of one another and tucked them into the pocket.
Your Hard Work Will Pay Off
The great thing about creating a recipe book for all your Christmas recipes is that you will no longer have to fumble through a large stack of disorganized recipes. Your holiday recipes will all be compiled into your attractive Christmas recipe book.
Save some time on the weekend to create a recipe book. It’s a fun activity that you can do alone or with a friend, and you will finally breathe a sigh of relief that order has been restored to your collection of Christmas recipes.
