Easy Ways to Store Your Christmas Cookies
Useful Baking Tips for This Christmas Season
We have some great Christmas recipes on this website because we know that ultimately the most enjoyable Christmas craft is an edible one. Undoubtedly, you have your own Christmas recipes too that you enjoy making. If you’re like me and make several batches of all your favorite Christmas recipes, you might be wondering how to store all those Christmas cookies and how to present them to others either in your home or as gifts. Below you’ll find some great suggestions for how to properly store all those Christmas cookies. I’ll also share with you some helpful baking tips you will find useful this Christmas season.
Step Away From The Stove
Keep in mind that when you are baking cookies you always want to let the cookies cool away from your stove. Don’t pull your cookie sheet out of the oven and rest it on top of the stove to cool. Carefully remove the cookies and transfer them to wire racks or kitchen towels far away from the heat of your stove. Don’t talk on the phone while baking, either! I once forgot to add the flour when I was trying to bake and talk on the phone at the same time.
The Wonders of Tin
When you are packing up Christmas cookies for relatives, friends, coworkers, and neighbors tins can be a great way to present and store your cookies. Line the tins with parchment paper or waxed paper first. Neatly fill the tins with all of the types of Christmas cookies you made. Cookies can keep well in the tins for up to a week or so.
Plan Throughout the Year
Keep your eyes open throughout the year. I found the neatest little boxes at a dollar store, of all places, and I used them to give out my Christmas cookies. The boxes looked just like the kind you would get at a candy store.
If you don’t want to buy a bunch of tins (consider shopping the after season sales because you can find them very cheap), then you can always use a paper plate with a Christmas design on it and tightly wrap plastic wrap around your cookies.
