Interested In An Edible Christmas Craft?

Here’s One Christmas Craft Project Santa Is Sure to Love

If you need a good idea for a Christmas craft, you might want to try assembling a pretty display of ingredients to make Christmas cookies. After all, who doesn’t love a Christmas craft project that they can eat? Cookie ingredient crafts aren’t just a great gift idea, they’re actually quite attractive and you may want to keep a few to decorate your kitchen with.

A Quick and Easy Gift-Giving Craft

Presenting the ingredients needed to make a scrumptious batch of Christmas cookies is super easy, and this is one Christmas craft you definitely don’t want to pass up on. You can use it for gift-giving, and Betty Crocker fans will definitely appreciate having ingredients already prepared if they get in the mood to bake.

Getting Started

You will need clean 1-quart jars to store your ingredients in. Ball jars are preferable. If you don’t want to use a jar, you can always use a plastic food storage container and perhaps decorate it with Christmas stickers. The great thing about this Christmas craft project is that you can assemble the ingredients for almost any cookie recipe: oatmeal, chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, or butterscotch. The only ingredients you need to leave out are the ones requiring refrigeration.

You will begin filling each jar with your dry ingredients, arranged in layers. Add the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt, for example, if you are using a chocolate chip cookie recipe. You can cover the dry ingredients with a circular piece of waxed paper or parchment paper and layer the chocolate chips and nuts if your recipe includes them on top. You can place a pretty piece of holiday fabric on top of the jar lid to provide a decorative, seasonal touch. The gift recipient will have to add any necessary perishable ingredients such as milk, butter, or eggs, depending on the recipe you choose.

Don’t Forget the Recipe Card!

When making this Christmas craft, make sure you tie a tag around the outside which includes the recipes and suggestions for preparation. Use recipes that you know your gift recipients are sure to love. See what their favorite cookies are and search for some recipes now.

Get started in early December by gathering the recipes you will be using and purchase all of the necessary ingredients. Christmas craft projects are always fun, especially when the final results are edible!
