Looking for a Fun and Quick Christmas Craft Project?

Try a Christmas Craft Project that Guests Will Find Welcoming

One Christmas craft project you don’t want to overlook this holiday season is wrapping your front door. Decorating for Christmas can be fun and is certainly inviting for all the guests you will entertain this holiday season, but what is the first thing that your guests will see? Your front door!

Getting Started

This Christmas craft project requires you to leave the glue and glitter behind and head outside. You will need scissors and wrapping paper. A good choice is a shiny, brightly-colored red wrapping paper. You will also, of course, need the measurements of your front door. In order to limit your exposure to the sometimes bitter-cold December air (depending on where you live), I would suggest simply measuring your door from the inside of your house and also cutting the wrapping paper inside before heading outside to “wrap” your front door. Try to choose a high-quality, thicker wrapping paper since the wind outside can easily blow it off. If you can’t find what you are looking for, you can staple a thinner wrapping paper to brown paper shopping bags that you have cut open and laid flat.

Lay out your wrapping paper. If your roll of wrapping paper is too narrow, which it might be, you will want to piece together another sheet at the end that someone is least likely to notice. This will usually be the side of your door closer to the door hinge, not the doorknob. You can use a clear tape to secure the wrapping paper to your door. This Christmas craft project would not be complete without adding a bow to decorate the front of your door just as you would to a Christmas present. Choose a ribbon that is very thick since your front door is likely much larger than any Christmas gift you have ever received!

Wrapping your front door is certainly an inviting way to make guests feel welcomed to your home this holiday season.
