Pretzels and Ribbon Become Perfect Christmas Ornament Crafts!

Make quick and easy Christmas ornament crafts for all your friends and family!

Wreaths are classic Christmas ornaments, and these pretzel wreaths are unique, cute Christmas ornament crafts: a new spin on an old classic! They're quick and easy to make, but they do require a bit of precision, so they're not the best Christmas ornament crafts for young children. Have fun and get creative with these! You can use your imagination and branch out beyond the original Christmas ornament crafts to try all kinds of new things.

Materials

-Wax paper
-Twisty-type pretzels
-Hot glue gun
-Ribbon
-Cardboard (optional)

Make It!

These Christmas craft ornaments will look great decorating an old-fashioned Christmas tree! To begin, spread out a piece of wax paper. Arrange the pretzels in a circle just slightly overlapping one another and hot glue them in place. You can make your ornaments as large or as small as you like, but if you're going really small, I recommend mini-pretzels.

Glue another layer of pretzels over the first, sticking them to the first layer of pretzels to hide the places your wreath joins together. Once the entire thing is dry, weave a pretty ribbon through the pretzels and tie a bow at the bottom. Cut another piece of ribbon and hot glue the ends to the back so you can hang your Christmas craft ornaments from the tree!

OPTIONAL: if you're hoping these Christmas craft ornaments will last a long time, you might want to try hot gluing them to a piece of cardboard cut to the same size. Paint the board green, and you've got a perfect Christmas-y background for your pretzel wreaths!

Other Ideas

You can make larger wreaths to hang on walls and doors (although these wreaths are pretty fragile -- I wouldn't hang them outside!). Just make your circle larger and add more pretzels to the mix. You can use larger pretzels for larger wreaths, or stick with mini pretzels to make an intricate, careful design.

Remember: these are your Christmas craft ornaments, so don't be afraid to dress them up! Glue on decorations, berries, dried fruit, or anything else you think might add a touch of Christmas spirit. Why not cross some evergreen branches below them, or thread several different colored ribbons through the finished product? That's the real joy of Christmas craft ornaments: using your imagination to make them even better than before!
