Santa Claus Christmas Crafts For Kids

Fun, easy Christmas crafts for kids young and old!

One of the best things about the holiday season is all the Christmas crafts for kids. It's a great time to pull out the scissors, the glue, the crayons, and let your creativity go wild. And if your kids are talented creatively, they're sure to remember all the crafts as much as -- or maybe more than -- the presents.

So what are you waiting for? 'Tis the season for Christmas crafts for kids, and this Santa mitten is a great way to get started.

What You Need

--white glove (you can use an old garden mitt or the stretch gloves you can buy at discount stores)
--googly eyes
--pink, red, and tan felt pieces
--cotton batting
--elastic bands
--tacky glue
--pink or tan pompoms (smallest size)
--craft glue

What To Do

1. Stuff the palm of the glove (not the fingers) with cotton batting. With the elastic band, twist the opening tightly shut. Note that even though these are great Christmas crafts for kids, you may have to help get the elastic tightly shut for younger children.

2. Cut a circle out of tan felt about the same size as the palm of the glove (this will be Santa's face). Glue on googly eyes, two small pink felt circles for the cheeks, and a pompom nose. Create a bushy mustache out of cotton batting. Let the glue dry enough that things won't be falling off or sticking to your fingers!

3. While the glue dries, fashion a Santa hat out of red felt and cotton batting.

4. Glue the face onto the palm of the glove (don't worry about a beard -- that's what the fingers are for!). Carefully glue around the inside of your hat and fix it to the top of Santa's head.

5. Santa gloves make great Christmas crafts for kids just as they are, but if you want to you can string a ribbon through the hat and turn Santa into a tree ornament, a doorknob hanger for kids' bedroom doors, or even the centerpiece of a Christmas wreath.

Remember, 'tis the season to craft and have fun. So pull out all those mismatched gloves the kids have accumulated over the years and get cracking on fun and easy Christmas crafts for kids.
